AWARDS and RECOGNITION
2016
Congratulations to BIS treasurer, John Iwanski of Hebron,
MD, who is a local recipient of the nationally-recognized
Jefferson Awards!
In addition to his involvement in a stamp club, horticulture
society, Boy Scouts and Bayshore Iris Society, John
volunteers at American Legion Wicomico Post 64 in Salisbury,
where on an almost daily basis he provides a variety of
services to local veterans.
2015
Congratulations go to Pat McNeal for winning the AIS
Membership Campaign Contest for the second year in a row;
she received her choice of two, new, 2015 introductions as
her prize! She
also won runner-up in the Close-up of an Iris Category of
the 2015 AIS Photo Contest with her photo of “Social
Graces,” and two Honorable Mentions with photos titled
“Judges Begin Their Task” and “Gull’s Wing at Day’s End.”
For her Runner-up photo entry, she received a 2014
introduction, “Commanding Presence,” by world-renowned
hybridizer Paul Black.
